I know what it feels like to be far from the people you love. As part of the sandwich generation, my husband and I raise our child while caring for aging parents and grandparents overseas. He is from Germany, and I am from China, so our home reflects two cultures and the same challenges many families face.
Years ago, while working in a memory care facility, I met a woman from Taiwan in late-stage dementia. When I greeted her in Mandarin, her eyes lit up. That moment stayed with me. I realized how deeply language and culture shape comfort, dignity, and connection.
That experience changed how I see care. It showed me that care is not only about tasks, but about being understood. Today, this belief guides how I lead our team, match caregivers, and support families, shaping care that feels familiar, respectful, and deeply human.

Akira has gone above and beyond to help facilitate the care my mom needs. She has paired mom with a perfect caregiver (❤️ Far), shown true empathy and understanding and has helped communicate needs with insurance.
